Nirvikalpa was formed in the cold freezing winds of december 2002 by a thin young man joined later by a long-haired
specsy guy with a slight french beard. The thin guy is Rishi who's been into guitaring since the age of 10 and gave his first
public performance at the age of 12 in Kamani auditorium Delhi in front of an audience of roughly 3000 people. The song he
performed was my sweet lord by George Harrison. Rishi was introduced to Rajat by a common friend Rajat on a cold
and windy night in the midst of a saucerful of secrets. Chatting over the net in their free time about music, Rajat decided
to team up with Rishi and together they went ahead with Nirvikalpa.
Nirvikalpa's first song was warcry which was posted on garageband.com which rose to #230 from scratch within two
weeks of free contest time. Thereafter came their debut album winter of doom containg of all purely instrumental
numbers like sum of all energies and dark hallucinations. It was not for sale commercially and most of the
songs were put for free download on the internet over various sites. Their second album was meri baat which contained
the hindi rock'n'roll number agar tum chahoe of which they sold 200 copies which contained some new as well as old
tracks. Next came up the death-metal single antim sanskaar with harsh vocals in hindi. In the beginning people found
the idea of doing the vocals for a death metal song in hindi so weird that noone was willing to do it, so Rishi went ahead
and did it himself.
